Reading List (Leganto): Copyright: what can I upload?

Linking to an electronic book, book chapter or journal article from the library’s resources (using Search) has multiple benefits:

  • It gives students immediate access to the item
  • It allows you to link to multiple chapters from a book
  • As it is a link, copyright clearance is not required
  • DO NOT upload a pdf scan if the item is available electronically

If you can’t find an electronic version of the item and need to upload a pdf scan please be aware that:

  • It will need to be sent to the library for review
  • It will slow down student access
  • It will need to be copyright compliant (A printed book: 1 chapter or excerpts up to 10% may be copied, whichever is the greater. See below link for further info)

More information on copyright and what you can upload can be found at https://library.sydney.edu.au/help/copyright/downloads/copyright-guide-to-delivering-teaching-materials.pdf
