Chemistry: SciFinder


SciFinder is the most comprehensive source of chemical information available.  Comprised of CAS databases plus Medline, it indexes journal articles, conferences, books, reports and patents, as well as chemical substances and reactions. 

You can search by topic, substances by name or CAS Registry Number, or use the editor to draw chemical structures, substructures and reactions. 

SciFinder is a key research tool for chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, nanotechnology, physics, environmental science and other science and engineering disciplines. 

Answer sets and alerts can also be saved to your account.  

Registration & off-campus access

Individual registration is required to access SciFinder.  Login to SciFinder’s registration page (link below) with your UniKey to create an account. 

Support & training

SciFinder’s support page provides short, targeted training materials organized by search type (structure searching, reaction searching, references, etc.).  

Titles marked with an asterisk (*) are key topics designed to get you started quickly. 

There are also special topics for advanced users, as well as materials in Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese.
