Primary vs Secondary Research

Research : a carefully thought-out investigation, often involving experimentation which tests a hypothesis, leading to the discovery and interpretation of new information. There are two categories:

  • Original (primary) research : First-hand evidence such as experimental data.
  • Secondary research : Investigations, generally providing overviews, of research carried out by others.
