Start locating books and journal articles on your topic by typing your keywords or phrases into Advanced search.
Step 1
Devise a search string to combine the key words and phrases in your research topic.
Example search:
"higher education" AND ("active learning" OR "flipped classroom") AND lecture*
Notes:
quotes " " search the phrase/words next to each other
asterix * looks for any words with multiple endings
brackets () group words together
AND - looks for all the words/phrases
OR - looks for one or more of the words
Step 2
Result sets are often large, so use the refine options on the search results screen to narrow the results, for e.g. to books or book chapters, peer reviewed articles, narrow by date, or by discipline.
Step 3
Browse the results for relevance.
Click through to the full-text, download each full-text article separately.
You can pin items (or searches) you wish to keep, then go to Favourites at the top of the screen to output the citations to EndNote (use the ... icon to "push to" Endnote).
Click on a Journal title below, then Search inside the journal for your keywords.
