Referencing Tips

  • Reference consistently: don't switch referencing styles mid-assignment!
  • Reference thoroughly: acknowledge other people's ideas as well as direct quotations.
  • Reference as you go: inserting references after you've finished an assignment is time-consuming and frustrating!

EndNote

EndNote is a piece of software which enables you to store and manage your references.

Download EndNote X2 (the latest version of EndNote).

To format references in the Harvard 3 style using EndNote you will need to download the Harvard 3 Style File. (This appears as 'Harvardam3' in EndNote).

Instructions on how to download Style Files can be found here.
