This free monthly reference service is a listing of Australia's recent government publishing output. Each publication has been published during the current or previous two years by a government department or agency. The records in this file are derived from the Libraries Australia database
The University Library receives selected government publications, for example NSW and Federal Debates (Hansards) and parliamentary papers. These parliamentary materials are located in print in the Law Library compactus. Some publications are located Storage and can be requested from Storage.
These publications are arranged alphabetically by country, then alphabetically by type of publication, then chronologically, e.g.
G for Government publication
AUS for Australia
D for Debates
Some sets of government publications are held in microform (location prefix MIC). These are shelved in the Microform area on Floor 1 of Fisher Library. Microform items that are located in Storage may be requested.
Government publications may also be located on the main shelves of Fisher and other University of Sydney Libraries. Use the Library's Advanced Search (Catalogue) to search the Library's collections. In Advanced Search filter your results by Library and Location.

GovPubs is useful for historical research, it is no longer being updated. It is a guide to selected Australian government publications, such as Acts, Hansards, Gazettes and Parliamentary Papers, located in Australia's National, State and Territory libraries or available on the web. A historical description of each publication is provided, and holdings information will enable you to locate resources in each library or online.
