Start locating books and journal articles on your topic by typing your keywords or phrases into the Search box on the Library Home Page.
Devise a search string to combine the key words and phrases in your research topic.
"higher education" AND ("active learning" OR "flipped classroom") AND lecture*
Click on Search
quotes " " search the phrase/words next to each other
asterix * looks for any words with multiple endings
brackets () group words together
AND - looks for all the words/phrases you enter
OR - looks for one or more of the words, put terms you wish to OR together in round brackets
Result set are often large, so use the refine pane on the left of the search results screen to narrow the results to books or book chapters, peer reviewed articles, narrow by date, or by discipline.
Browse the results for relevance.
Click through to the full-text, download each full-text article separately.
You can pin items you wish to keep, then go to Favourites at the top of the screen to output the citations to EndNote (use the ... icon to "push to" Endnote).
Use the Education Databases (which index the journals listed below) or alternatively, search for your key words within the following journal titles (one at a time).
There are also journal that support teaching and learning in higher education within discipline areas. USC have a list by discipline. Identify relevant titles in your discipline and look them up on Library Search - Tip: choose Title field and Material Type: Journals
